NEW! We are thrilled to offer Epic Homeschool Classes offered online by instructor Beth Cuvelier (see attached Bio). Online instruction is open for students grades 6-12, and are 1/2 credit for History, Bible, and Literature for the semester. Older students will be given more difficult assignments, and if parents are interested, there is an Honors Option for these classes. Future plans will include all of Jenny's Biblical and American Revolution titles as courses.

Course Description:

God’s Epic Hand in History: featuring The Storm, the Fish, and the Vine

This book is unique in the Epic Order of the Seven series. The story begins in 1777 in America during the early years of the Revolutionary War, then reflects back to 1725
England with the introduction of young John Newton. Students will explore the events of Newton's life that led him to lose his soul to the vilest of institutions as a slave trader, and his eventual redemption and mission as a mighty vessel for God. While examining Newton's life decisions, students will return to an earlier time in ancient history to examine the Israelite prophet, Jonah, who was lost in the belly of a fish due to his disobedience to God. We will study the history of ancient Israel at the time of the prophet with a focus on the Assyrian Empire and its capital, Nineveh (modern day Iraq). The SFV concludes with a return to America's fight for freedom from the British Empire and consideration of the meaning of "liberty for all." Topics include: Assyrian Empire; the Northern Kingdom of Israel; life in England in the 1700s; Ancient African civilizations; slavery in Africa; Triangular Trade; the Middle Passage; an introduction to the Abolitionists Movements in England and America; the hymn Amazing Grace; William Wilberforce; and principles of liberty in the Declaration of Independence. In this class, students will learn the critical thinking skills of the comparison and contrast of various cultures, leaders, and religions. We will note the Maker's sovereignty and redemptive grace across all time periods to affect His purpose on the earth.
